Who is this course for?
It’s for people who want to move forward with their academic writing without hurting themselves or compromising their sense of integrity.
You may be very experienced or relatively new to academic writing – or anything in between.
Your project may be an article, a book (chapter), a thesis/dissertation, a research proposal or other kind of text. In any stage of development, including revisions.
This course is ideal for those who can commit daily (or near-daily) time to work on their project, but is compatible with a busy schedule and doesn’t require uninterrupted engagement during the eight weeks.
This course is not for people who have a tight deadline and want specific support for meeting that deadline. It’s also not for people looking to learn the technicalities of academic writing.
THE FOUNDERS
A life in flowers
Ever since he can remember, Erik Haar has felt deeply connected to nature. As a child, he would return from the outdoors with small handfuls of flowers, twigs, and leaves — carefully chosen, creatively composed, and often gifted to his mother. These early, instinctive arrangements weren’t bound by rules or tradition. He simply followed what felt right.
That natural instinct has since evolved into a career spanning over 30 years in floristry.
Erik has worked on floral projects across the world — from weddings to fashion weeks in Italy and Dubai. He has collaborated with renowned flower studios, developed a signature arranging style, and built a reputation as one of the most beloved florists in his field. His compositions are instantly recognizable: light yet grounded, poetic yet precise.
In addition to floristry, Erik has designed and sold his own vases, always treating the vessel not as a container, but as an integral part of the composition. For him, a flower arrangement is never just decoration — it’s a dialogue between form, space, and stillness.
Now, at O’Leaf, Erik brings his experience and intuition into a new, lasting form — creating artificial floral pieces that feel just as alive as nature itself.

The surprising effectiveness of an embodied approach
As it turns out, navigating the drama of academic writing is greatly supported by making your bodily experience of writing a whole lot more interesting than is typical in academic circles.
Most of us don’t think about writing as involving our bodies beyond ergonomic desk arrangements and reminders to get up and walk or stretch.
But the way we habitually approach and feel about our writing is expressed through the body. Because of this, and because our bodies are so well-equipped for self-regulation and for finding freedom in movement, an embodied approach to writing gives you a direct way to tap into your own resourcefulness.
This is the skill you’ll be learning and deepening in this course.
Over eight weeks, you’ll heighten your awareness of writing – your writing – as an embodied practice, using the Four Elements of Earth, Water, Fire and Air as a somatic map. Along the way, you’ll find new options for your writing, ways to work around blocks and challenges, and greater pleasure in expressing yourself in text.

Soy doctora por la Universidad de Barcelona con cualificación sobresaliente cum laude. Completé mi formación con el Máster Internacional de Dermatología Estética de la Universidad de Alcalá de Henares, y con el Máster de Dermofarmacia de la Universidad Miguel Hernández, así como distintos cursos y talleres de láser y dermatología estética desde 2014. He publicado distintos artículos en revistas científicas desde el inicio de mi formación.
También soy miembro fundador de la plataforma de divulgación científica Dermothèque fundada en 2018, donde, junto con 3 dermatólogas, creamos contenido sobre dermatología estética y cosmética para redes sociales (Instagram @dermotheque) y en formato podcast (Dermothèque, un podcast de dermatología). Gracias a esta labor, hemos participado en programas de televisión, radio, podcast y prensa escrita.
En el ámbito privado, desarrollo mi actividad en la Clínica Corium Dermatology en Barcelona, donde me dedico a mejorar la calidad de la piel de mis pacientes mediante el uso de dispositivos láser. Estoy especializada en el tratamiento de manchas, fotorejuvenecimiento, lesiones vasculares y cuperosis, cicatrices, y tumores benignos, además de acné, melasma y rosácea.
Actualmente ejerzo la dermatología pública en el Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, donde dirijo la consulta monográfica de dermatitis de contacto, y soy también especialista en dermatitis atópica y urticaria. También soy miembro del Comité Técnico de Farmacovigilancia del mismo hospital. Además, soy profesora clínica en la docencia de pregrado de Medicina de la Universidad de Barcelona.

La Dra Sara Gómez tiene a su disposición dispositivos médicos de última tecnología para tratar distintas enfermedades de la piel (fotoenvejecimiento, acné, rosácea, tumores benignos, etc.)
Luz Pulsada Intensa de Nordlys, de Candela
Esta luz pulsada dispone de tres cabezales (555nm, 530nm y 400nm) para mejorar y tratar distintas alteraciones de la piel como manchas marrones (manchas solares o léntigos), manchas rojas (telangiectasias y cuperosis) y textura de la piel (induce la producción de nuevo colágeno y mejora la textura de la piel).
Es un dispositivo muy versátil y no requiere tratamiento anestésico previo ya que suele tolerarse correctamente. Puede oscurecer las manchas tras el tratamiento o inflamar transitoriamente la piel aunque el postoperatorio suele ser asumible.
